Logan's Friends® LLC was founded in 2006 by Jody Mlynek, the mother of a child with autism. Having witnessed first-hand how her son, Logan, was often misunderstood at church, at school and in the community, she decided to do something about it by creating an organization that would support parents of special needs children and put tools of enlightenment into the hands of those who teach, equip and inspire others.
Logan's Friends® is a proactive organization whose mission is to engender greater understanding, compassion and acceptance for children and adults with disabilities by way of innovative programs and practical resources that open the eyes, minds, and hearts of anyone willing to listen and learn. Our goal is to help the world see these "abilities" instead of "disabilities."
"Angels Among Us" just released. This musical project has gone way beyond what we had originally hoped for it. Initially, it was to have been a way to help fund Logan's Friends and bring much-needed revenue to our organization. Along the way,
though, something else happened: Angels Among Us went from a physical creation to a spiritual one, it
became a vessel filled with hope and prayer and fellowship and selflessness. It has come to symbolize what many in the Christian community believe
is our life's mandate: to find a way to identify our assignment, to
honor Christ and serve Him. Sure, we knew we could have gotten
a few musicians together to make a CD. But instead, God worked
in powerful ways to bring together the special talents and gifts of
many musicians, songwriters and musical technicians—some
of whom don't know one another and may never meet—gifts
that He has carefully bestowed, to work in His behalf: to
make something charged with the power of music which will
inspire, entertain and encourage while at the same time,
bring focus and attention on a ministry that supports
and cares for His little ones.
So, instead of a musical project, instead of all of
us coming together as though of one mind to make
something to help others, instead, it is we who are
helped. We, who are blessed. We are the 'us'
among whom the angels walk. We know you will be blessed in hearing it.
